Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-07-09 · Effective immediately.

These Terms govern your use of the Floe app ("Floe", "the app"). By downloading or using Floe, you agree to them. Floe is provided by Jan Zellerhoff (see the Imprint).

Health & safety — please read. Floe is a tracking and timing tool, not a medical device and not a source of medical advice. Sauna heat and cold-water immersion carry real risks, especially with heart conditions, high or low blood pressure, pregnancy, or when combined with alcohol. Always warm up and cool down sensibly, never plunge alone where drowning is possible, and stop immediately if you feel unwell. Consult a qualified physician before beginning any sauna or cold-exposure practice. You use Floe and undertake any session entirely at your own risk.

Licence

Floe grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, in line with the Apple Media Services Terms and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA), which applies in addition to these Terms.

Subscriptions & purchases

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple. Refund requests are subject to Apple's policies and can be made via reportaproblem.apple.com.

Acceptable use

Don't attempt to reverse-engineer, resell, or misuse the app, or use it in violation of applicable law.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

Floe is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages, or for any injury or loss arising from your sauna or cold-exposure practice. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (including for intent or gross negligence, or for injury to life, body, or health).

Changes

We may update these Terms; the current version always lives at this address, with the date above.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
