The passport is in a drawer somewhere. The insurance policy is in an email from two years ago. The lease is a photo of a photo. You know you have all of it. You just can't find any of it when it matters.
kept puts every document in one place on your iPhone, names each one for you, and finds it by the text written inside it. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is read by a server.
Point the camera at a contract and kept crops it, reads it, and files it under a name you would have typed yourself. Apple Intelligence does the reading, on the device.
Type "insurance" and the policy, the invoice and the renewal notice all come back, because kept searches the text within each document rather than its filename.
The policy, its renewal and last year's invoice become a single stack instead of three loose cards. Spaces go one level further and keep the flat you rent apart from the house you own.
Bills to pay, contracts to renew, IDs about to expire. kept pulls the dates out of the documents themselves and keeps a running count of what still needs you.
Recipient, contract number, notice period and the correct termination date are lifted straight from the contract into a finished letter. You check it and send it yourself.
Too many almost identical photos? Roll curates your iPhone photo library, explains which frame it would keep, and never deletes on its own.
Your documents are stored on your device, in the app's own container. Scanning, naming and text recognition all happen there too. kept has no account to create, no server to sign in to, and no analytics of any kind.
